Newbery Award and Honor Check-list

One of my friends from grad school, who's also a parent, challenged herself to try to read as many Newbery Award winning books as possible, and she asked on Facebook, "Who's with me?"  So, because I've read a few of the books over the years (I fell in love with a few in school and I took a children's literature course at UCLA), I'm creating this section of the blog to keep track of this year's books.  I'm also opening up my list to Newbery Honor books too, because most of the time it is just luck that one book might win over another in a particular year.  Anything shortlisted by the Newbery committee is perfectly good.
